Icon Connect, a world leader in the Smart Home Technology sector, design and install AV, IT and Security systems in some of the most prestigious Super Yachts and Homes in the world and are looking for an experienced and passionate Systems Design Engineer to work in our Pre-sales Systems Design Department.

Profile of ideal candidate:

This role would best suit somebody with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with another integration company or similar industry, with specific knowledge of systems integration (AV, Control, IT, CCTV, Door Entry, Cinemas etc.).

Candidates will ideally have:

A proven technical background, with knowledge of the latest digital distribution technologies.

An ability to update/produce quotations. Experience with Excel spreadsheets and strong graphical presentation skills would be an advantage.

An eye for detail is required; this is especially important in the early design stages. Self-discipline and good time management skills are also a necessity – you will be working on a large number of projects all with specific deadlines.

Experience in attending site or client meetings as and when required for either Sales support or for creating design briefs for the department.

Good, clear communication of ideas is required along with dependability, self-confidence and a ‘get the job done’ attitude.

Icon Connect design and install some of the most sophisticated home entertainment and electronic control systems in the world in prestigious houses and luxury super yachts.

The ideal candidate would have previous Purchase Ledger, accounts and office experience and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Sage Line 50 and Intermediate Excel.

Good organisational skills, accuracy and an excellent telephone manner are essential for this multi-tasking role which will incorporate but not limited to:

• The day to day running of the Purchase Ledger, including input of supplier invoices/credits, supplier payments, as instructed by the Financial Controller, and dealing with queries

• Input of stock transfers

• Dealing with expenses processing/payments including credit cards

• Facilitate travel funds as and when required and keep sufficient funds available

• General filing including purchase orders/delivery notes, returns and repairs

• General administration which would include but not limited to answering incoming phone calls into the office and re-directing as necessary.

• Open and distribute the incoming mail

• Greeting visitors and offering refreshments

• Make payments by credit card for product required by engineers where we do not have an account

• Book the Xmas party venue and other arrangements

Profile of ideal candidate:

• Software Engineers – Minimum of 2 years programming experience in any discipline or equivalent university experience.
• Junior Software Programmers – Someone with basic programming knowledge and ability to quickly learn new programming methods and languages.
• Networking Engineer – Good knowledge of networks and ability to troubleshoot. CCNA qualification desirable. 2 years minimum experience.

Candidates will ideally have:

• Good knowledge of computer hardware and connectivity – e.g. RS232, peripherals etc.
• Good understanding of Ethernet networks.
• Knowledge and experience of either Crestron or AMX programming would also be an advantage, however full training will be provided.

We require an enthusiastic and hard working IT & Networks engineer to join our Monaco based team. Employment would be through our Monaco registered SARL under standard Monegasque employment terms.

You will work in an innovative and customer-oriented organization where we are dealing with UHNWI’s on a daily basis.

Job Description: Working under the direction of our London based IT manager.

• Design, installation, configuration and support / troubleshooting of our network solutions
• Daily (remote) monitoring and support of client systems.
• To provide and manage relevant project documentation and related detail information.
• To stay informed of technological developments and collaborate proactively with the engineering and design team to improve our offering.
•  Together with the team, you will realize innovative AV / IT system installations on super yachts in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and the UK.

Skills Preferred:

• HBO diploma or equivalent, preferably with an IT specialization;
• Willingness to make short trips abroad several times a year;
• Familiarity with the latest ICT technology;
• Certified in Cisco Networking (minimum CCNA);
• Experience with Windows server environments, Exchange, VMware;
• Experience with wireless networks and security;
• Experience with VoIP solutions;
• Knowledge of audio / video systems such as amplifiers, video distribution and network video streaming is a bonus;
• In addition, you can communicate well in English, written and oral;
• Any additional languages such as French, German, Italian and Dutch are a bonus;
• Clean Driving License and own transport preferred;

Key attributes:

• Understanding of audio visual, mechanical and electrical services, their integration, regulations, protocols and related technical language including control systems, lighting, HVAC, BMS, access control & security.
• Well versed with Microsoft products such as Word, Excel and MS 365 suite

• Accuracy & management of project documentation
• Ability to impart engineering knowledge and train others
• Monitoring and Reporting Project Progress to the lead engineer
• Building & Managing relationships and interfaces with other contractors

Key technical skills required

• Multiple project experiences of use of both Crestron DM and NVX
• Good working knowledge and working experience of Networks and Network architecture
• Good working knowledge of Digital Audio systems such as Qsys or BSS etc
• Experience in Lighting systems such as Crestron and Lutron for both programming and installation.
• Good fault finding and commissioning skills are compulsory
• Excellent use of hand tools, test equipment and competent at soldering
