On board of a Superyacht it can be difficult to locate your direction without standing on the bridge. For Islamic customers, direction on board is key when it comes to fulfill their religion. This is because Muslims pray towards Makkah, the holiest city of the Islam. To be more specific, Muslims prey towards Qibla during Salah prayers. This is the fixed direction of the Kaaba, the building in the center of the most sacred mosque in Makkah.
Besides the direction, time is also a key element for Muslims. Salah times are the times that Muslims perform their prayers. Each day contains five prayers, Fajr (pre-dwan), Dhuhr (midday), Asr (afternoon), Maghrib (sunset) and Isha (night). The time is determined by the position of the sun in the sky. This means that Salah times vary at different locations on earth.
Oculus Technologies created an unique feature in YachtEye which shows the Kaaba, to determined the location of Makkah, Salah prayers times, adjusted for each timezone and the prayer direction, based on the position of the Yacht.
