Russell founded Icon Connect in 1987. He is widely recognised as one of the leading authorities in the Smart Home Technology industry thanks to his uncanny sense of how leading edge technology can be practically applied. Russell oversees the design team and keeps them switched on to the latest manufacturer offerings and makes sure their schemes are capable of being implemented by our engineering team.
His practical approach to clients’ requirements means Icon Connect can support the complete build team on yacht or residential projects, whether they involve naval architects, ship yards, M&E consultants or interior designers. He has made sure that this approach is replicated across our team of surveyors and designers. Supported by the design team, he is often contracted to consult on projects – employing his rare skillset in understanding the application and integration of the many Smart Home Technology disciplines.
After a 12 year yachting adventure, which took him to all points of the compass in every role from Steward to Captain, Glyn swallowed the anchor and set his sights on a life ashore in the sunny South of France. Following a brief flirtation with yacht management, he was presented with the opportunity to represent Icon Connect, and as an ex-client recognized this as an exciting new opportunity. Nine years later, he has grown our presence in both the yachting and residential sector aided by our fabulous international office in the heart of Monte Carlo.
To keep pace with our young dynamic team, Glyn recently joined the ranks of lycra clad cyclists who terrorize the highways of the Cote d’Azur every weekend. His training usually culminates in a charitable cause such as Cogs 4 Cancer, Princess Charlene Foundation or the Blue Marine Foundation rides which provide worthy motivation for many hours in the saddle.
